A Moscow court has rejected producer Andrei Razin's claim against the Russian Authors' Society (RAO) to recognize him as the author of the song "Pink Evening" by the group "Laskoviy May". The judge refused to satisfy all of the plaintiff's demands; the decision has not yet been appealed, TASS reports.
Razin claimed that he had created the arrangement of the composition, and co-author Sergei Kuznetsov had only assisted him, citing a verbal agreement between them. On this basis, the producer demanded that the song be excluded from the RAO registry.
Representatives of the authors' society objected to these demands. The court, having studied the case materials, came to the conclusion that there was insufficient evidence of Razin's authorship, and left the work in the RAO database in its current form.
The song "Pink Evening" remains registered as a work of the group "Laskoviy May". This is not the first legal attempt by Razin to challenge the copyright to the repertoire of the legendary group.
Earlier it was reported that a pensioner was being tried for feeding a neighbor's cat.
